LEADERSHIP TRAINING WORKSHOP IN PHILIPPINES>> When I arrived at the Clark International Airport, I realised that this is an airbase also for the US air force in the Philippines. Now, part of the airport has been converted into a low cost airport especially for budget airlines.
OCT 2006 LEADERSHIP -TRAINING WORKSHOP IN THE PHILIPPINES>> The day started with the “Chair” skit led by Nandor Lim of IofC Malaysia. The skit aimed to situate the participants of what the seminar-workshop intended to achieve.
YOUNG PEOPLE LOOK TO ASIA'S FUTURE>> 'When I was a little boy, my grandparents warned me, ‘Don’t ever have contact with the Malays and the Muslims, and don’t work with the Indians, because you don’t know when they will betray you.’ … When I was 15, my parents decided to separate. So, I was betrayed not by Malays, Muslims or Indians, but by my closest relatives. Anger, hopelessness and self pity slowly became a part of my character...
INDONESIA - MEETING AN INSPIRING GROUP OF YOUNG PEOPLE.>> Air Asia, the cut price airline based in Malaysia, has the logo “Now anyone can fly.” Nandor Lim (from Malaysia) and I (Peter Heyes from Canada) therefore decided to take up their offer and fly to Jakarta. The main aim of our visit was to interact with the IC team in Jakarta and to provide them with training in team building.
FAMILY WORKHOP TRAINING FOR TRAINERS IN TAIWAN>> This is an extract from a poem written by Vincent from Malaysia, using his non-dominant hand. It was a creative expression of his inner self discovered during the 2nd Family Course “Training for trainers” run by Ren-Jou Liu in Taiwan. For those who like statistics, according to Nandor from Malaysia, during the 12 days we spent “73 hours 3420 minutes in workshops and discussions, 960 minutes in one-to-one conversations, excluding the interactions during relaxation and sightseeing times ”.
INTERNATIONAL YOUTH FORUM IN BANDUNG, INDONESIA>> The forum was co-hosted by Initiatives of Change-Indonesia and the Indonesian Center of Religious and Civilization Studies and took place in the historic 'Asia Afrika' building - venue of the landmark 1955 Asian-African conference. It was opened by HE H Dede Yusuf, the Vice Governor of West Java Province.
